Lot 1418 John A. Heydler

Baseball umpire in the 1890s who later became the president of the National League. Uncommon vintage fountain pen signature, “Glad to oblige, John A. Heydler,” on an off-white 5 x 1.75 irregularly clipped slip, with collector’s notations along bottom, and affixed to a clipped piece of cardboard. Scattered light toning from adhesive on reverse and a few light vertical folds, otherwise fine condition.
